TEAM NEWS: TRG GOES TO DAYTONA LOOKING TO EXTEND ITS GRAND-AM WIN STREAK

Photo by John Thawley PETALUMA, Calif., (July 3, 2007) -- Team TRG looks to extend its recent winning ways when the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve heads to Daytona for the July 5th Brumos Porsche 250 At Daytona and Round 10 of the 2007 schedule.

TRG dominated its win at the June 24th EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, leading the final 32-laps of the two-and-a-half hour contest. Prior to that, Team TRG won a nail-biter with a decisive pass in the waning moments to claim victory in the grueling Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen on June 9th at historic Watkins Glen International Raceway.

In both cases, it was the No. 66 CRG Porsche GT3 beating all GT-class competitors to the checkered flag. Piloting the TRG-prepared entry to victory each time was the combined talent of Rolex Series veterans Andy Lally and RJ Valentine.

In addition to the consecutive wins at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen, the driver duo of Lally and Valentine also guided the No. 66 to victory at the U.S. Sports Car Invitational held on May 19th at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. All tolled, TRG now has three GT-class wins in '07 - with all three coming in the past four races. The Petaluma, California-based TRG looks to extend the positive momentum and capitalize on a successful race history at Daytona -- including two Top Five team finishes in the 2006 Rolex 24 At Daytona as well as a GT-class win during the Grand-Am visit to Daytona in July of last year.

"We've had an incredible string of races starting with Laguna Seca," said TRG team owner Kevin Buckler. "With the streak of two wins in a row and three of the last four, the momentum is certainly with us. But more than that, the entire team has been working together really well. Just like last year, our team has gelled. It's exciting and I expect a strong showing at Daytona by all of our cars and drivers."

Leading the charge for TRG will be the No. 64 JLowe Racing TRG Porsche with drivers Jim Lowe and Jim Pace. Lowe and Pace are a great combination with tremendous experience between them, both in wet and dry conditions. Having led GT-class races previously, and scoring a huge podium finish at this year's Rolex 24, they're no strangers to running up front and are expected to be key factors in the outcome at Daytona.

As mentioned, the tandem of Lally and Valentine will be in the No. 66 CRG/Maxter GT3 and will be looking to add a Daytona win to TRG's current series-leading tally of 23 Grand-Am wins.

Rounding out the Daytona effort for TRG is the 500 Fast Cash Porsche GT3 of driver teammates Scott Tucker and Ed Zabinski. "Scott and Ed will run really well here. They have done several races with us and showed they have what it takes to run up front," commented team owner Kevin Buckler.
