Photo by John Thawley Los Angeles, July 15 - Matt Alhadeff and Bill Auberlen, co-driving the Luggage Express Sigalsport Dinan BMW Riley, finished 13th Friday night at Iowa Speedway. After qualifying seventh, Bill Auberlen had a fantastic first 85 lap-stint and ran in the top five for 25% of the race. Matt Alhadeff drove in the second stint, then, while running in tenth place, was involved in a racing incident with the #6 car in the last turn of the Iowa track. The collision between Ian James and Matt Alhadeff forced Matt to pit to check the left front side of the car. The crew found out right away that the steering arm was broken so the car had to be retired from the race on lap 169.

It is of course a big disappointment for the Luggage Express Sigalsport BMW who had a great car and was definitely on its way to a strong top ten finish.

The next race is scheduled for next Sunday at Barber Motorsports Park, Alabama.
