Photo by John Thawley Alpharetta, Ga. – In an announcement this week, professional sports car driver, James Gué has signed with Tafel Racing to drive in the upcoming events on the Grand Am Rolex Series schedule at Barber Motorsports Park and Iowa Speedway.

For Gué, this will be a return to the GT class in the Rolex Series having competed in the class on four previous occasions this year. The young professional piloted Corvettes for Stevenson Motorsports at both the six-hour event at Watkins Glen International as well as at the world famous 24 Hours of Daytona event. Switching gears, he was behind the wheel of Pontiac GXP.R racing for Racers Edge Motorsports at both Virginia International Raceway and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. With his best result being a 5th place in Lagaua Seca. These next two events will be a slight change for Gué as he will be behind the wheel of the No. 72 Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car with co-driver Nathan Swartzbaugh.

"I am really thrilled about Iowa and Barber," said Gué. "Tafel Racing has an incredible reputation of success and professionalism. To get to run with such a high profile team is a huge opportunity for me. I'm friends with Nathan, but we've never raced together before, so that will be exciting. First and foremost, I need to thank Jim Tafel and Tony Dowe for having me in the car for these two races. I am going to do my absolute best behind the wheel of the Porsche and hopefully come away with podium results at both events."

This season Gué is competing in the Koni Challenge Series, where he is currently 3rd in points, as well as select road racing events throughout the rest of the 2007 season. In addition, he is a driving instructor at the new Skip Barber Racing School at Road Atlanta formerly the Panoz Racing School. For more information about Gué and upcoming races, please visit
