TEAM NEWS: Lux and White Prepare for SPEED World Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park

Photo by John Thawley TOOELE, Utah May 14, 2007 - NayKid Racing's return to the ultra-competitive world of the Sports Car Club of America's SPEED World Challenge GT Series has placed them on center stage of a season-long show. Now, Janicek~Marino Creative is following the driving duo of Cindi Lux (Aloha, Ore.) and Scotty B. White (Lake Tapps, Wash.) backstage, giving the world a true glimpse of what it takes to really go racing. Racing NayKid will premiere early next month on Turner Media Group's iDrive TV. Between all the cameras, Lux and White have been going through the daily routine of preparing for this week's event at Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele, Utah. Both the No. 2 Mintex Brakes/Red Line Oil Dodge Viper Comp Coupe of Lux and the No. 3 Corsa Performance/Forgeline Dodge Viper Comp Coupe of White are scheduled to race at the 4.5-mile, 24-turn circuit on May 19.

Miller Motorsports Park is an excellent venue for Lux and White to step-up and return to their winning-ways. After a strong but frustrating showing at the Grand Prix of Long Beach, the multi-time T1 class championship winning effort is looking towards the wide-open, natural terrain course in Utah as its true coming-out party. The V10-power of the Viper Comp. Coupe, with its excellent handling and phenomenal braking, will get to show itself far better on the long circuit than it could on the tight street course in California. NayKid Racing returned to World Challenge after White last raced in the Series in 2004. It is Lux's first foray into the SPEED Channel-sponsored series though she has made other professional racing starts in the past.

Racing NayKid depicts the real life effort required to find success in the SPEED World Challenge while moving forward without a major sponsor. The 30-minute reality show is currently scheduled to debut on June 6 at 8 PM (ET) on iDrive TV (check your local listings). 13 episodes are planned offering a unique, un-doctored look at the efforts of the Northwest-based team to make the transition from a dominant SCCA T1 class Club program to aspiring Pro level operation. Shooting started at Long Beach where the drama was high as Lux and White each worked to bring two new cars from off-season preparation to race season action. Janicek~Marino will continue to film behind the scenes for the remainder of the year. Future plans for Racing NayKid include a fully interactive audience experience where partners of the team can market their products directly to the viewer and the viewer can purchase the same products that NayKid Racing utilizes on its Dodge Viper Comp Coupes without ever leaving the living room.

The NayKid Racing Dodge Vipers can be seen competing in the Grand Prix of Utah at Miller Motorsports Park on SPEED Channel, Sunday, May 27 at 5 PM (ET). Racing NayKid's premiere can be seen on iDrive TV at 8 PM (ET), Wednesday, June 6.

Cindi Lux: "I can't wait to get these Vipers ripping around at Miller. Anytime you get to a track that is over 4.5 miles long and twenty plus turns per lap, you better have brought your 'A' game. There is no room for error. Getting that initial race under our belts at Long Beach was a big step for our team. Now we are ready for round number two. This whole reality show thing is a crack-up. It's bad enough being new to the series and making some mistakes. But now all those mistakes on being captured on film for the whole world to see! The production crew are really cool people and they want the dirt for the show! So guess what? They are getting what they asked for! There are no secrets. We've opened-up our whole wacko team to the world."

Scotty B. White: "I think we are happy to be going to a real road course. Don't get me wrong, I love a good street fight but it's a tough place to debut a new car in a new series for your entire team. In spite of that, we rolled the hot rods in the trailer in one piece; mission accomplished! Miller Motorsports Park is an amazing venue and I am jazzed about the short flight, the long corners and multiple transitions. It's a real road racer's road course! So what about the reality TV show they're filming on us, Racing NayKid? How weird is that? Freaky part is it's been picked up so I guess I'm supposed to go around mooning everyone, handing out advice no one wants to hear and having tantrums like John Force does. Hell yeah I can do that. I do have two, beautiful, teenage daughters and a bizarre sense of humor. My attitude is let's just go racing and let 'em film whatever they get."

Len Marino, Janicek~Marino Creative: "This all started when we went to the SCCA National Championship Runoffs last year. I was introduced to Gary Johnson [Dodge Motorsports Road Racing Manager] where I outlined our plans for the coming year. Gary thought that we needed to meet Cindi and Scotty. He suggested that a good story would be to follow this Club team as it steps up into the World Challenge. So, we talked to Cindi about the idea. She loved it. A few weeks later we got a pitch together and sent it to several networks including SPEED Channel. Just after the first of the year we got a call from Cindi. She said that their principal sponsor had pulled out. When I asked what they were going to do she said, 'we're going for it'. I later learned they had taken out a second mortgage to fund the season. The race driver in me understood. Most of us fund our own programs. The producer in me said, 'now we've really got a show!' My business partner, Jim Janicek and I are underwriting the production. He said, 'If Cindi and Scotty believed in this enough to go for it we' will too.' What started as a project that was part of our overall show plans, just one of many, has turned out to be this perfect reality show that we feel is not only going to promote sports car racing but show the human side of the sport as well. They've given us a no-holds- barred look into their personal as well as professional lives. Is this great TV or what?"
