TEAM NEWS: GMG Launches Full Assault on the Streets of Long Beach This Weekend with Support from Riviera Magazine

Photo by John Thawley Long Beach, Calif. (Apr. 13, 2007) - GMG will field the #14 Porsche Speed GT-GT3 Cup car driven by James Sofronas which is being sponsored by Riviera Magazine of Modern Luxury. Riviera's residential magazine, the hippest, most upscale publication, focuses on the finest in fashion, local dining, culture, home design, travel, and social events in Orange and San Diego Counties.

"There's nothing quite like racing in front of your hometown area with your friends and family there to watch in person," commented James Sofronas, President of GMG. "We will have in attendance many of our clients, as well as several Porsches from Southern California we have tuned. Furthermore, we always like to showcase our products on our race cars in front of our customers."

Regarding the race this weekend, James stated, "This is as close as we can get to a home track for us. GMG is very excited to be competing in front of the home crowd, but this doesn't make it any easier. With the rewards weight and restrictor size adjustments, some of the cars will have more straight-line speed on Shoreline Drive, but the GMG Porsche 997 GT3 Cup car has great brakes and handling. With ABS banned this season, Turn One will be interesting. I'm going to work closely with GMG Team Engineer Todd Ketchum on getting a good set-up for the race, making sure our suspension and brakes are tuned perfectly.

"There is limited track time, due to the size and scope of the weekend schedule. We have very little track time to get it right. Getting the correct set up early on in the weekend is critical in order to find yourself at the top of the timing sheets."

GMG, Southern California's Premier Porsche Tuner, is also pleased to announce that it will be exhibiting at the Long Beach Convention Center's Life Style Expo (located downstairs in the convention center adjacent to the Speed GT garage).

They will be showcasing several of their highly modified Porsche street cars (GMG's 997TT, 996GT2, 997GT3RS and more) in conjunction with tuning partners GIAC, Moton, HRE, Sparco, Brembo. GMG will be offering special incentives for customers who come by and visit the display.

Fabryce Kutyba, VP of GMG added, "Southern California is Porsche's #1 marketplace and for GMG the Long Beach Grand Prix is one of the most important races of the year. GMG's new 15,000 sq ft. facility is located just 25 minutes south of Long Beach so we will be racing in front of our friends, families, fans, and customers. The SCCA SPEED GT series has been a key component in showcasing our tuning capabilities as the upgrades and modifications we compete with on our SPEED World Challenge 997 GT3 Cup trickle down to our clients' street cars. We are very proud to be part of the SCCA SPEED GT series and if this weekend's race is anything like last year's, it will be the most exciting race of the weekend!”
